Research and Development at Bitcarrier is one of the pillars of the company as the team’s passion for innovation and continuous improvement (kaizen) leads the company to find new technologies, processes, algorithms and solutions day after day. Bitcarrier conducts its own internal R&D projects and also participates in public R&D projects together with other companies, universities and institutions.

R&D is
the engine
that keeps
the flow going.
The goal of this project, carried out in collaboration with LiftLab, was the analysis of visitor trends during one exhibition in Palexpo using Pathsolver solution.
The results, obtained through the integration of the GSM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth data captured by the Bitcarrier sensors installed in keys places, enabled LiftLab to understand the main indicators to be taken into consideration for the data elaboration, such as attractiveness, capture and profiles.
LiftLab was then able to show the analysis of those indicators in charts for a better visualization of the evolution of the visitor flows according to the dynamics in spaces and events over time.
Palexpo is now able to improve the planning strategy in order to control the flows of its visitors. (January 2011 / Geneva, Switzerland)

It is a R&D project financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN) and carried out in collaboration with ITENE, ZLC, CENIT, Palma Tools, ITS Spain, Fivec and AVMM. The project reference number is E6/08.
The goal of the project is to foster sustainable urban mobility and the use of public transport using research and development on new methods and information technologies in order to support the operative planning of travelers in urban areas.
Current management systems, suffer from a series of weaknesses that Bitcarrier solutions are able to tackle:
The integration of data provided by other existing technologies and information including all methods of public transport or other options such as the private car, carpooling, car sharing, park and ride, etc.
Accuracy in the calculation of travel times recommending travel routes depending on the specific situation of traffic at every moment.
Efficiency in route evaluation
Bitcarrier will soon implement its Citysolver solution by installing ‘Urban’ sensors in the cities of Valencia and Barcelona to achieve the development of a decision support system allowing travelers to choose routes and transport modes in urban areas, in a comprehensive way (all modes), that fosters the use of sustainable modes and the public transport.

The aim of this R&D project, carried out in collaboration with Telvent, Tekia, ITS Spain and CENIT, is to develop a pilot test and a simulation of ATIS (Active Traffic Information System)/ATMS (Active Traffic Management System).
Bitcarrier will implement its Citysolver solution in the city of Barcelona. The data audited by its ‘urban’ sensors will be integrated with the data provided by other existing technologies in order to create a reliable and accurate system able to add value and enrich data analysis.
This information, once elaborated, will be given to the travelers at the most suitable places and times. At the same time, thanks to the sophisticated algorithms of the Bitcarrier solution, it will be possible to compare the data captured by the other existing technologies and to evaluate their efficiency and reliability.
